About Brad Edwards
Brad Edwards is the founding partner of Edwards Henderson. He is a nationally recognized Board Certified Civil Trial attorney who specializes in providing civil representation for children, survivors of sexual abuse, and victims of violent crimes. He is best known for representing more than 70 sex trafficking survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Prior to pursuing a career in law, Brad was a standout high school quarterback as well as a nationally ranked tennis player. He played collegiate tennis at the University of Florida and graduated with honors. His competitive edge is evident in the way he tirelessly prepares his cases.
Career
Brad founded Edwards Henderson in 2017.
Before entering private practice, Brad was a lead trial attorney at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted violent criminals. Brad has devoted his practice and his life to fighting for children and survivors of crime in state and federal courts across the country.
In addition to his work on behalf of survivors of crime and sexual abuse, Edwards was also lead counsel in a federal class action (Hirsch et al v. Jupiter Golf Club LLC et al) against The Trump Organization that resulted in a $5.7 million verdict.
Litigation Against Jeffrey Epstein
In 2008, Brad represented Courtney Wild, a woman who was sexually abused when she was 14 years old by Wall Street financier Jeffrey Epstein. That case launched a legal crusade against one of the most powerful and wealthy sex offenders in modern history. From 2008 until long after Epstein’s death in 2019, Edwards represented more than 70 women against Epstein, his associates, his enablers, and his estate, as well as against the U.S. government for its 2008 sweetheart deal with the sex offender (Jane Doe v. United States of America). Among his clients was Virginia Roberts Giuffre. Brad represented her in a defamation lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell which settled in 2017.
After Epstein’s death in 2019, Brad alongside Brittany Henderson helped establish the Epstein Victims’ Compensation Fund. This fund awarded over $120 million to 130 victims.
Notable Verdicts
In 2018, Brad Edwards obtained a $71 million jury verdict on behalf of a client who was sexually abused on board a private yacht. This was the largest jury verdict in the United States obtained on behalf of a single survivor of sexual abuse. Other notable achievements include obtaining one of the Top 50 verdicts in the United States in 2015, 2016, and 2018 and two of the top Florida verdicts in 2011 and 2012. Throughout his career, he has obtained hundreds of millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients.
Pro Bono Service
Despite his busy trial schedule, Brad provides hundreds of hours of pro bono services and educational presentations each year to Victims Advocate Services and victims’ rights groups throughout the country.
For more than a decade, Brad pursued a precedent-setting case in Federal Court, on a pro bono basis, on behalf of sex abuse survivors of well-connected billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. The lawsuit alleged that under the direction of Alexander Acosta, the federal government violated the Crime Victims’ Rights Act when it made a secret plea deal with Jeffrey Epstein. In February 2019, the Judge on the case ruled in the favor of Epstein’s survivors, holding clearly that the government had violated their rights under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act.
